June is just a memory, and now we’ve really hit our stride as we begin burning the summer sunlight. Days are longer and weekends can’t get here quick enough. The hardest part of July is remembering to do the little stuff that keeps your body and mind strong for the other 11 months. Stay focused. Stay cool. Stay hydrated. But more importantly, stay committed to a healthy and frugal lifestyle!

Healthy Happy and Strong

Here are the five things you should eat every day to keep your body firing on all cylinders.

Lean Proteins

Low-fat dairy products, legumes, chicken breast, fish and tofu are healthy choices.

July Hack

On the off chance you fail to heed my advice on sunscreen, here’s a great way to put a chill on your sunburn. Fill an ice cube tray with some aloe vera gel, freeze it and then pop a cube out and rub all over the affected parts of your body. It’ll feel great and prevent your skin from peeling.

Merry July!

The holidays are right around the corner (sort of). Start saving now to prevent stress later. Here are some easy tips to get you started.

Set a budget on each person you intend to spend money on during the holiday season.

Establish a timeline to meet your financial goals. Want to spend $1,000 in December? Save at least $200 a month until then.

Set up a Christmas account with your financial institution to keep your funds separated.

Start collecting change. See a penny, pick it up and put it away.

Use credit card reward points you acquire from July until December for presents only.
