Online short-term lender CashNetUSA, has just announced its ‘Holiday Heroes Contest,’ a Facebook promotion that will award one special hero with a $1,000 gift card for their goodwill.

The ‘Holiday Heroes’ campaign recently launched via CashNetUSA’s Facebook page on November 30th. Customers are invited to nominate someone who has served as a “hero” in their community by submitting an essay about why they believe their nominee is a worthy advocate.

Entries will be judged in equal parts on the impact that nominee has had on his/her community and the clarity of expression and quality of writing as exemplified in the submission. The winning hero will receive a $1,000 gift card, while their nominator will receive a $500 gift card.

Nivene Judeh, Social Media Analyst for CashNetUSA, says that this social media campaign came about because the company was interested in promoting a worthy cause that would not only benefit their customers but also those who have selflessly given back to their community.

To enter for a chance to win, customers must ‘Like’ CashNetUSA on Facebook between November 30th and December 19th and submit their ‘Holiday Hero’ essay to CashNetUSA’s contest page.

The winner of CashNetUSA’s ‘Holiday Heroes Contest’ will be announced December 21st.
